Suffice to say there's no racing tonight. Summer is back for this weekend however. Come out for the Bean Croc / Around the Islands race. Skippers Meeting at 9am for a 10am start.

Only two (2) Saturday events left in the 2019 Sailing season, besides the Fall Weds evening series starting Weds 4th Sept. Day events are; Round the Islands 7th Sept, & Bean Crock 14th Sept. respectively. ROUND the ISLANDS. 7th Sept. This is normally one of the better attended races of the year and is for both regular Racers & Cruisers. Format as the name implies is to start at the club and circumnavigate Kelly's Island, Bell Island & Little Bell to finish at the club. The direction to be taken depends on wind direction at start, ie; SW wind, will be clockwise around the islands, NE wind would be anti-clockwise. Depending on weather/wind forecast for the day, either strong winds or light breeze the course can be shortened to keep boats inside big Bell Island and simply go around Kelly's and Little Bell islands using the Conception Bay Navigation Marks. (halfway down back of Bell Island with no wind is no fun, despite the scenery!!). So, Racers & Cruisers get your crews together this week ready for Round the Islands, next Saturday 7th. As a practice perhaps have a trial run on the Wednesday evening race, first of the Fall series. Let’s have a good fleet turnout for this fun event, afterwards come up to clubhouse to share the day's experiences over a Pint.
